Koru is a desktop application made by Valencia Labs, LLC ("Valencia Labs", "we", "us"). We built Koru to keep your work on your own computer, and this policy explains the little data we do handle to run our website and deliver your download.
The Koru app does not collect your data. Your tasks, notes, files, and team list are stored in a local database file on your own computer. They are never transmitted to us or to any third party. We can't see them, and we don't want to.
We only collect limited information on our website and download portal — mainly the account you use to sign in so we can give you a download link and manage your license.
Account information. When you sign in to download Koru, you authenticate through our identity provider, Clerk, using a Google or Microsoft account. We receive your name, email address, and a unique account identifier. We do not receive or store your password.
Download and license records. We keep a basic record that an account requested or received a download, plus the app version and date, so we can support you and manage licensing.
Basic website data. Like most websites, our servers and providers may log standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and to understand aggregate traffic.
What we do not collect. We do not collect, receive, or store any of the content you create inside the Koru app.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We share limited information only with service providers who help us operate, such as our authentication provider (Clerk) and our hosting and download infrastructure. These providers are bound by contract to protect your information and use it only to provide services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
We keep account and license records for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can ask us to delete your account information at any time (see your rights below).
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the limited information we hold. Because your Koru content stays on your own device, the security of that data is in your hands — we recommend full-disk encryption and regular backups. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@usekoru.io. We will verify your request using your account information and respond within the timeframes required by law.
Koru is intended for professional use by adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the website after an update means you accept the revised policy.
