Accessibility
Koru Grid should work for anyone who wants to understand California's grid, whether you use a mouse, a keyboard, a screen reader or a phone.

Our goal
Koru Grid aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across the site.
What's built in
- Keyboard. Every chart works from the keyboard. Tab to it and use the arrow keys to step through its readings; Escape clears the reading.
- Screen readers. Each chart carries a written description, and as you move through one, each reading is announced through a polite live region.
- Tables. Every chart has a Table button that swaps the plot for the same data as a table.
- Contrast. Text is set to meet WCAG contrast ratios in both the light and dark themes. Where a source's color is pale, it always comes with a label, a legend and the table.
- Not color alone. Sources are named, forecasts are dashed, and a selected option, such as Today or Yesterday, is marked by weight and an outline, not shade alone.
- Reduced motion. If your device asks for reduced motion, Koru Grid skips its animations.
- Phones and themes. Layouts adapt to small screens. Koru Grid opens in its dark theme; the theme button switches to light, and the site remembers your choice on that device.
Known limits
The spiral in Patterns is drawn on a canvas and is mostly visual. You can still step through it with the arrow keys and hear each reading, and its Table view holds the same data. Chart descriptions summarize rather than list every value; the Table view has them all.
